GSJUA Evaluator
Effective
2009, the following policy is in effect for non-championship
Junior Olympic tournament play in this region.
Most
tournaments will employ on or more GSJUA Evaluators. This GSJUA
Evaluator will be stationed at a site that is not governed by a
designated UIC. This evaluator will perform official
evaluations of the entire officiating staff at that
location. That person will be known to the officiating
staff; this is not a "secret" evaluation.
These
evaluations will be submitted to the UIC and your local UIC.
The
goal of this program is to further our evaluation program and
training of our umpires. The GSJUA provides contract based
services to our clients in our region. It is our goal to
provide the best service possible. We need evaluations of
our umpires to measure both where they are and to measure their
progress throughout the season.
To
compensate this Evaluator, the following adjustments are in effect
for the upcoming year.
-
All
1st year/rookie level umpires will receive a $25 per
game.
After evaluation, if it is deemed you are at the appropriate
level of officiating, you will be promoted and will receive
$30 per game as described below.
-
All
other umpires remain at $30.00 per game. You will be
charged a $5.00 per tournament due which will be subtracted
automatically from your tournament check. It does not
matter if you work 1 game or or 15 games, you will be charged
the $5.00 fee.
-
There
is no guarantee you will be assigned to the site where an
evaluator/UIC is present. Indeed, some tournaments are
so large, the GSJUA could not afford to assign an Evaluator to
the tournament at all. The above listed policies are
still in effect.
Questions
about this program should be directed to your local
UIC.
Thank
you,
